Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your Sakeenah account and the data associated with it, for the app Sakeenah, developed by an independent solo developer based in Manitoba, Canada.

Option 1: Delete from within the app

If you have the app installed, this is the fastest option:

Open Sakeenah and go to the You tab
Tap Account & Backup
Tap Delete Account and confirm

This immediately and permanently deletes your account and all associated cloud data. There is no waiting period - deletion happens right away.

Option 2: Request deletion without the app

If you no longer have the app installed, or would rather not open it, you can request deletion directly by email. The button below opens your email app with a message already addressed and drafted - just fill in your account email and send it.

Once we receive your request, we'll verify it's coming from the account holder and process the deletion as soon as possible.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

Your journal entries and their matched verses
Your Journeys, including their notes and status
Your saved Favorites (verses, duas, hadith, names of Allah)
Your app preferences and Privacy Lock credentials (stored as salted hashes)
Your account and sign-in information

Nothing is retained after deletion - there is no additional retention period, and no backup copy is kept once your account is deleted.

If you used Sakeenah only in Guest Mode (never signed in), there is no cloud account to delete - your data has only ever existed locally on your device, and it's removed as soon as you uninstall the app or delete it within the app.
